Before the kids came,
I spent my time in bookshops.
I loved the smell.
You said I loved strangeness. You
who held your cell ninety degrees to your face
to discuss matters of business
with the speaker function on
in the poetry section. I said
nothing. The section is abandoned.
Anyway. Always the same stock.
Kalil Gibran in dozens
and not a single Jean Valentine.

About Me

A poet-chef living in Denver, Co. I use the orange Aquafresh toothpaste, off brand mouthwash, and those little floss picks.
